Leneva Park pretrained Kurabui kicked off her career with an easy win in the Gippsland Premium Quarries Maiden Plate (1400m) at Pakenham. She comes from a family of famous stars, being the daughter of Proisir, a Group 1 performer, and half-sister of Surprise Baby,
who started favourite in this year's Melbourne Cup. the pressure was on Kurabui and her relaxed nature took her all the way to the winners stall. When questioned about her on the track, track rider Joel Beaumont comments, "She's a really nice, athletic filly". Leneva Park Manager, Sarah Beaumont, has her eye on Karabui stating, "She's a strong filly and always a real pleasure to work with each morning. Mick and Jnr have clearly taken their time with her, and I feel that has been a masterstroke. She's one that will get better through this prep and next prep." Karabui is definitely a filly to watch over this season of racing.
