We were proud to see the first of our home-bred weanlings for season 2022 go through the ring at Inglis in early May with two nice colts the standout.
Russian Revolution is hot property at the moment after a great 2YO season and we offered a neat colt out of the Charge Forward mare Lemming through Sherah Sullivan's Sullivan Bloodstock draft on our behalf.
Selling to Victorian farm Supreme Thoroughbreds, the Lemming colt realised $80,000 which was a nice result. Lemming was bought carrying the Russian Revolution colt for $80,000 at the 2021 Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale and is currently in foal to Impending. Lemming will be covered by Fierce Impact in 2022.
Next cab off the rank was a handsome Exceedance colt out of the well-related American mare Ingrid. This mating was planned by the team at Leneva Park with a view to capitalising on a first season stallion that we thought appealed as great value.
Offered by Ryan Arnel's Stonehouse Thoroughbreds on our behalf, the good looking colt made $50,000 and was sold to renowned pinhookers KBL Bloodstock - we wish them a good profit on the colt when they turn him back through the yearling sales in 2023.
Trading stock is part and parcel of the bloodstock game and our business will always look to sell good quality stock when the market allows. Ultimately we are sellers, our business doesn't survive without trade, so we look to meet the market on every opportunity and hopefully our horses sell strongly.
It's a nerve wracking game but all part of the fun of running a breeding business!
