ROYAL MEETING TO SHINE ON THE GOLD COAST

Updated: Jan 9, 2023

Leneva Park stallion Royal Meeting will be represented by six yearlings at the Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale, an outstanding result that highlights the quality of his stock.

The Magic Millions draft is even more remarkable when you consider that the six yearlings represent 10% his his first season foal crop.

"To have that percentage of foals represented in one of Australia's biggest yearling sales is absolutely amazing for a first season sire, an international Group 1 winner that local breeders weren't that familiar with," said Tom Havers from Leneva Park nominations.

"He is a good looking high quality horse and he's leaving really attractive foals, I think a couple of them will really turn heads on the Gold Coast."

Havers pointed to two horses that he believes are great examples of what Royal Meeting can produce; Lot 40 the filly ex Lady Of Crebilly on the account of Newhaven Park and Lot 141 the colt ex Mistress McDowell from Sullivan Bloodstock.

"The Lady of Crebilly filly is quite a nice filly, I think she will sell well. She is from a good European family and Lady of Crebilly herself was a city winner and Listed placed."

"The Mistress McDowell colt sold for $160,000 at the Gold Coast National Weanling sale and was a real head turner as a foal - nothing has changed since and he will definitely catch the eye on the Gold Coast. His dam line goes back to the family of Dancing Show and we all know the big names that line has produced, no less than Redoute's Choice."

Royal Meeting is also represented in Book 1 by Lot 704 a lovely filly by the Fastnet Rock mare Cavaco on account of Ollie Tait's Twin Hills Stud. In Book 2 of the sale Lot 1233 (a colt ex Russian Rites from Carrington Stud), and Lot 1250 (a colt ex Sicily) and Lot 1254 (a filly ex Sogha) both on account of Murralla Stud.
