TOP MARES ARRIVE FOR FIERCE IMPACT

Updated: Jun 16, 2021

A handful of top class broodmares have arrived in Victoria ahead of the upcoming breeding season and a date with freshman stallion Fierce Impact.

The five mares are pictured above at Newhaven Park before leaving for Leneva Park - from L-R French SW Magnamine, G2 winner Luvaluva, Dancing Heather dam of speedster Heatherly, SW Testa Secret and SW Jedaffair.

They arrived in beautiful condition from Newhaven Park in NSW and have been carefully selected by their owners to visit Fierce Impact.

"What you've got with these mares is proven performance on the track and also as broodmares, across them you have a great mix of raw speed and classic quality," said Mark Pilkington.

"And the good news is that this is just a fraction of the quality that has already been booked to Fierce Impact - the owners are supporting him with the best of their broodmare bands."

Riding high on the success and influence of grandsire Deep Impact in recent weeks, the nominations team at Leneva Park headed by Mitch Brown have seen interest go to a new level with some big results in the northern hemisphere.

G1 Yasuda Kinen winner Danon Kingly (Deep Impact ex My Goodness - Storm Cat) and G1 Epsom Oaks winner Snowfall (Deep Impact ex Best In The World - Galileo) have been stunning major race winners and highlight some of the strongest genetic nicks in the world today.

Deep Impact over Galileo is emerging as one of the most potent genetic links in world racing with a whopping 8.33% G1 winners to runners and 29.17% SW to runners according to G1 Goldmine statistics.

While Deep Impact over Storm Cat continues to produce star performers with 10.87% G1 winners to runners and 15.22% SW to runners. "The Storm Cat nick was well known but the emergence of the Galileo nick has really got people thinking," said Brown.

"And importantly there are still plenty of well-bred Galileo mares in Australia, Fierce Impact really is the ideal option this season for those mare owners - with the stats going the way they are, why would you go anywhere else?
