Breeders have been stocking the barn ahead of the upcoming 2021 breeding season at recent sales, with a swarm of top quality broodmares heading to Leneva Park's first season stallion Fierce Impact.
Part-owner Seymour Bloodstock, the racing arm of owner Darren Thomas, told media that he and manager Mark Pilkington had earmarked some of their top mares to visit Fierce Impact.
"We’re sending Fierce Impact the dam of Heatherly, a half-sister to Melbourne Cup winner Cross Counter, the dam of last season's SA Sires Produce winner Ringbolt and my old favourite Famous Painter - the dam of my first top horse Sistine Angel as well; most of the resultant progeny will go into training for us," Thomas said.
"Mark (Pilkington) was busy buying at Inglis last week and we'll have a look at the Magic Millions Sale too, we want him to have the strongest possible book."
Wakeful Stakes winner Luvaluva, French stakes winner Magnanime, American stakes winner Georgia's Reward - a close relation of Blue Diamond winner Artorious - NZ stakes winning 2yo Testa Secret, and stakes winners Zelsnitz and Jedaffair all have confirmed bookings to Fierce Impact.
Leneva Park added Group placed Savabeel mare Savvan from the Inglis Chairman's Sale along with the sharp and well-related Bound For Love and Lemming to its group of mares set to visit Fierce Impact in 2021.
"We've been shopping, but so have others. To see the Fierce Impact syndicates and shareholders working to buy good mares to give this boy the best possible chance, it's fantastic," said Leneva Park general manager Michael Sharkie.
"The horse was paraded at Inglis Riverside during the Australian Broodmare Sale in front of all the top agents and breeders - they loved him. The general consensus was that he looks a true Australian type, good looking, a great temperament and very hard to fault physically."
"With the quality of mares going to him, he'll get a great start."
